Zai initially
qualified as a social worker and worked in many different fields of
social work.
In 1980 she took up the position of Director of SANCA in
Pietermaritzburg, but spent more time doing fundraising and PR.
After she moved to Johannesburg in 1986 she completed a PR Diploma
and focused more on Fundraising and PR and Marketing for NGO's..
Zai has had a vast experience in all aspects of fundraising from
Corporates, mail appeals, bequests and events.
She has been involved with SAIF for more than a decade.

Pam Lewis is the
previous Chairperson of SAIF Eastern Cape and is trying to rebuild a
professional fundraising network in the area under SAIF.
She is the Resource Facilitator for St Francis Hospice in the Nelson
Mandela Bay Metropole - Port Elizabeth which is HPCA Fully
Accredited Member, Best Practice, Mentor Hospice and Centre for
Palliative Learning (CPL) for the Eastern Cape. Her work is mainly
in the Corporate & Trusts & Foundations sector - proposals writing &
reporting as well as developmental training into rural Communities
with emerging community HBC groups.
She is also the Hospice Palliative Care Association (HPCA) Regional
Advocacy Officer for the Eastern Cape.
Her career background is in Nursing (UK & Zambia ) and the
Financial Sector in Building Societies.
Pam was the Chairman of the previous Womens Bureau (EC) for many
years, working with health and gender abuse she now works
extensively in the holistic palliatiave care & HIV/AIDS field. Her
passion is networking & sharing with fundraisers skills from 15
years fundraising experience with various NPO's.

Elrina van Schaardenburgh
is the Chief Executive Officer of Cresset House, a residential and
occupational facility for adults with intellectual disabilities, in
Midrand, Gauteng.
Prior to this appointment, Elrina was the Regional Development
Manager for Girls and Boys Town for 13 years, first in Port
Elizabeth and thereafter in Johannesburg, being responsible for
recruiting, training and managing staff with the focus on
Relationship Fundraising.
Her involvement with SAIF has been since 1999, initially in the
Eastern Cape, and then subsequently in Gauteng where she currently
serves as vice chairman of the Regional Branch and has been been a
National Council member of SAIF since 2007. |

Crystal is the Director of MTR Smit Children’s Haven
in Port Elizabeth.
Crystal obtained her BA(Hons) in Social Work from the Nelson Mandela
Metropolitan University in 1984 and then Masters Degree in
Philosophia. She obtained her Doctorate (D.Phill) in Social
Work in 2008
Crystal has a great deal of experience in all aspects of social work
with children as well as business management, marketing, public
relations, public speaking, lecturing, judging event organisation
and major fundraising.
She has vast experience of being Board chairperson of many Boards
and committees, and also been a Ward counsellor.
She has been the recipient of many awards including the Algoa FM
Woman of Distinction (2005/2006); Mrs United Nations SA 2006:
Community Service Award Winner; Citizen of Year (2006); Woman of
Courage (2006) and Woman of Distinction (2006-2007)
She is an accomplished sportswoman as well and also enjoys spending
time with her three children.
