The Department of Institutional Advancement is responsible for managing the University’s relationships with key external and internal stakeholders.
The main purpose of this role is to coordinate and execute initiatives contained in the plan, with stakeholders and with the Manager; donor relations; and to build relationships and partnerships with external donors and strategic partners. More specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for generating increased income from existing sources, identifying potential funding opportunities, and coordinating fundraising projects.
Key requirements for this position include:
• a B degree in Communications, Public Relations or equivalent
• 3 years’ relevant experience
• sound project management skills
• knowledge/experience within the Higher Education environment will be advantageous.

Qualifications/Skill:
• Minimum of 5 years senior fundraising experience with a proven track record of success in fundraising with a strong knowledge of the sector.
• A degree or equivalent professional experience in Public Relations, marketing or relevant experience and qualifications.
• Have membership and adhere to a Professional Code of Ethics or Conduct
• Ability to work with MS packages; Word, Excel, Access, Publisher and PowerPoint presentations.
Working Conditions:
• Based at the National Directorate office in Kempton Park
• Able to travel Nationally when requested
• Able to work on weekends and evenings if and when necessary for special events
